Ballet is the core of all dance genres, and provides the pupils with a sense of discipline and technique. Through our years of experience we provide a strong foundation in ballet that enhances and improves training, complementing other genres of dance.
Students can start ballet from pre-school age where the very basic ballet steps are learnt through imagery and mime. These classes are always very popular and are packed with fun-filled ideas for the children to enjoy. As our pupils develop through the grades, we partner a strong foundation in technique combined with a love of classical ballet to bring out the best in all our students. IDTA Ballet exams are offered termly and start from Primary through to Advanced 2 Ballet. Many of our pupils complete the IDTA Performer exams before continuing onto professional dance training.
We also offer pointe-work training when we know the student is strong enough to move onto this classical technique safely.
Alongside the IDTA. syllabus, we also offer Junior, Teen and Senior Ballet Conditioning through the Progressing Ballet Technique programme. In these classes, our aim is to increase flexibility, strength, and technique to aid classical development. Pupils attending these classes progress quickly. These classes are open to anyone attending the dance school. To be considered for our competitive team Tap is a compulsory subject.
